Profile of Ladue

by Sid Cameron, (Data by: U.S. Census Bureau, Census 2000)

Established in 1936, Ladue is a centrally located inner-ring suburb of St. Louis, Missouri that boasts the highest median household income of any city in Missouri (over 1,000 people). As of 2008, the median household income was $161,613- more than three times the state average of $46,867.

Two interstate highways service Ladue. I-170, which runs north/south, gives Ladue easy access to Lambert International Airport. I-64, also known as Highway 40, runs east/west and connecting Ladue to the region's two major business districts- downtown St. Louis (roughly a 10-15 minute drive) and the neighboring City of Clayton which is home to five Fortune 1,000 companies and Enterprise Rent-A-Car. The regional MetroLink subway system can also be accessed in Clayton.

Ladue is mostly a residential community with no major business district or employers of it's own. The Market Place in Ladue, located on Clayton Road near Warson Road, does however feature a variety of smaller businesses and boutique shops. More information is available at shopladue.com.

With it's status of wealth, Ladue also enjoys a variety of recreational facilities including golf and country clubs- The Bogey Golf Club, St Louis Country Club, Log Cabin Club, Old Warson Country Club and Deer Creek Club.

Tiles Park, a 76 acre county park, offers fishing, athletic fields, tennis courts, trails, picnic sites and playgrounds. It is known locally for it's holiday light display that runs from Nov-Jan every year.

An estimated 72% of Ladue residents 25 years old and over have a college degree with an estimated 32% holding an advanced graduate or professional degree.
