State Grant for Pacific Will Make Global Automotives Expansion Possible
Source: Dept. of Economic Development
Sun, Dec 11th, 2005 10:34 pm

More jobs is a good thing.  And in a sleepy little bedroom communities like Pacific, MO 50 more jobs is a large enough growth spurt that it can spawn construction jobs for additional housing, force local employers in services and retail to add staff and cause overall improvement to the local tax base.

So today's news from the Missouri Dept. of Economic Development may seem small, but for Pacific, MO it's actually quite important.

PACIFIC -- Gov. Matt Blunt announced today that Global Automotive Parts LLC will privately invest at least $1 million and create 50 new jobs thanks, in part, to a state grant that will help fund water and storm water drainage improvements necessary for the company’s expansion.

Excerpts from the press release are below...

The Missouri Department of Economic Development approved a $200,000 industrial infrastructure grant through the Community Development Block Grant program for the city of Pacific, MO. The funds will be used along with local resources to extend a water main line and install a storm water drainage system in the Pacific Industrial Park to serve the proposed development.

Global Automotive Parts Group LLC manufactures fuel system components and engine management products for the worldwide automotive aftermarket. The company currently employs 22 people at its Pacific facility, but will more than triple its workforce within two years as it expands its market presence.
