St Louis Zoo Aglow for the Holidays
By Editor (Source: St Louis Zoo)
Mon, Nov 21st, 2005 8:04 pm

Earlier this month I mentioned the Story Book reading at the St. Louis Zoo as a great idea to keep little ones entertained.  Well, here's another reason to go back to the Zoo- which I should add is probably one of the best free zoos in the United States.  Excerpts from a Zoo press release are below.

Lights Adorn the St Louis Zoo entry during the Wild Lights Festival now through December.

The St. Louis Zoo will turn into a winter wonderland of color at this year’s U.S. Bank Wild Lights which will feature thousands of colorful lights, animated light displays and seasonal sounds. Event runs 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. November 25-26, December 1-3, 8-10, 15-23 and 26-30.

The Penguins and Puffins will be featured and for kids there will be costumed characters, crafts and more story telling- as well as the Polar Bear Express, a stationary Zooline Railroad engine dressed up for the holidays.

There will also be carolers, ice sculpture demonstrations and model railroad displays from the Boeing Employee Model Train Club.

Admission to Wild Lights is $5 per person, $4 for Zoo Friends members (no passes.) Children under two are free. No reservations are needed. Groups of 15 or more may receive a group rate by calling in advance. For more information, call (314) 781-0900 or visit www.stlzoo.org for times and details.

Enter Wild Lights at the South Entrance on Wells Drive near the Z-O-O pylon and Highway 40. Free parking is provided on the south lot.
