Soulard Mardi Gras' Biggest Question: Where to Park?
By: Darin "Sid" Cameron, CRS

As the party surrounding Souldard’s annual Mardi Gras festival gets bigger and bigger every year, the ultimate question that people end up asking is, "Where do I park my car?"  This year Metro has taken strides to provide extra bus shuttles to help with the problem.

On February 25th, you will be able to park at one of the 16 Metro Park-Ride Lots where you can then take MetroLink to the Civic Center Stop at 14th and Spruce (Savvis Center) or take a MetroBus to the Civic Center MetroBus Transfer Center.  From there you can take a Metro "Soulard Mardi Gras MetroBus Shuttle."  Here are the details from Metro:

Route Fare
Soulard Mardi Gras MetroBus Shuttle
(Round-Trip service; Runs continuously between Civic Center MetroLink Station [across from Savvis Center at 14th & Spruce] and Soulard Mardi Gras, February 25th, 9 a.m. - 12 midnight)
$5.00 Round-Trip cash fare, payable upon boarding at Civic Center MetroLink Station. No other fares (passes, tickets, transfers, etc.) are valid on the Soulard Mardi Gras MetroBus Shuttle. Children five years old and under ride free.
MetroLink to Civic Center Station Standard fares apply. Call 314-231-2345 or 618-271-2345 for more information.
MetroBus Routes to Civic Center MetroBus Transfer Center Standard fares apply. Call 314-231-2345 or 618-271-2345 for more information.
