 SAVVIS Accepts CEO's Resignation
By: Darin "Sid" Cameron, CRS

Well, I'm happy to say St. Louis executives can stop being the butt of NYC media jokes.

The SAVVIS Board of Directors announced last week that it completed the independent investigation into the American Express lawsuit against SAVVIS and it has accepted the resignation of Robert McCormick.

If you've been living in a cave, American Express sued SAVVIS for $241,000 in disputed charges made at a strip club two years ago on an American Express card issued to Mr. McCormick, then SAVVIS Chairman and CEO.

McCormick made international news when American Express filed their lawsuit.  Dubbed, "The Lap Dunce" by New York Media for reports of alleged wild and uncontrolled spending at the New York Strip Club, the lawsuit also brought unwanted attention to a company trying to hold off delisting by NASDAQ.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported today that as a part of his resignation, McCormick will assume liability for the $241,000 Manhattan Strip Club tab while SAVVIS will pay McCormick his 2005 bonuses- bonuses which could total significantly more than the $241,000.
