Circus Comes to the St. Charles Family Arena
By: Darin "Sid" Cameron, CRS (Source: Family Arena)

Was reminded by Kimberly that I hadn't posted a "Things to Do" blog post lately.  That doesn't mean there's nothing going on in St Louis, it just means we've been busy with real estate.

But a quick search on the internet found that the circus is in town.  If you missed it last year when it was downtown, this time around it's in St Charles, MO at the Family Arena.

Excerpts from their press release are below...

It’s a St. Louis tradition! The 64th Annual Moolah Shrine Circus returns to The Family Arena April 27-30 for eight spectacular performances.

Opening night under the big top is Thursday, April 27th at 7:30 p.m. with additional performances on Friday, April 28th at 10:00am & 7:30 p.m., Saturday, April 29th at 10:00 a.m., 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Also, Sunday, April 30th at 1:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Tickets are $12-General Admission, $17-Reserved, $27-VIP and $35-Executive VIP. Tickets are on-sale now at the Family Arena ticket office and all MetroTix outlets, by phone at 314-543-1111 and on-line at (FYI, misc fees may be added to tickets).

Why you should buy a ticket and attend...

This helps raise money for The Shriners who operate 22 hospitals in the United States, Canada and Mexico. They spend $1.6 million dollars a day treating children for a multitude of ailments, all FREE of charge.

Just in St. Louis, Shriners Hospital for Children treats an average of 1,100 patients a month and creates thousands of braces and prosthesis each year. Again this is all FREE to the child and their family. This is only possible because of the fund-raising efforts of nearly a half million Shriners across the U.S.

The proceeds from The Moolah Shrine Circus help with the daily costs of running The Moolah Shrine Center in St. Louis. (Proceeds are not deductible as charitable contributions, BTW, sorry) That’s why it’s become known as ‘The Circus with a Purpose’. So show your support for the Shriners’ hard work on behalf of children by coming out to the 64th Annual Moolah Shrine Circus!

If you've never been to the Family Arena, here are directions:

Conveniently located 1 1/2 miles south of I-70 and Fifth Street in St. Charles on Arena Parkway; Located one mile north of the Page Extension.
