The Cahokia Mounds State Historic Site in Collinsville, IL is just 15 minutes east of downtown St. Louis. This is the site of the largest prehistoric Indian city north of Mexico.

There is no admission fee but a suggested donation of $4 for adults and $2 for children ($10 max. per family). Events and programs are free, unless otherwise noted. Workshops and classes require pre-registration and fees paid to the instructors.
