Top Producer 6 Questions

Had an agent in the office ask me how to export a bunch of letters that are contained in a plan from Top Producer 6.

Answer:  I don't know.  I've only used Top Producer 7i and it's not exactly letter export friendly (requires a lot of cutting and pasting).

However my best guess is they had to create a method for doing that when they began migrating people to 7i.  It may not be a one step process, however- it may involve exporting to a Word or text file first before it imports into 7i.

Anyway, my advice is call Top Producer tech support.  And if you don't have a Tech Support plan for 6 in place you can rely on, you can always call TP presales and say you use 6 and were thinking of migrating to 7i.  Then ask, "if I do migrate to the newer version how do I go about exporting/importing my existing plans from 6 to 7?"

It's kind of like the TV game show Jeopardy.  It's all in how you phrase things.  Make your tech support question sound like a sales question and someone will jump through hoops to answer them.

If you have a real answer to this question, please post it in the comments section of this blog.  Would love to pass on better advice.
