Ideas for Backing Up Laptops Needed

I would like to hear from others about what they're doing for affordable backup solutions.

I have 3 laptops that need backed up and most of the solutions I've found are simply out of my budget. I was looking at getting an HP Media Vault.

Does anyone have experiences with it?

I had a fatal hard drive crash on my laptop in January and no current backups and I'm still suffering from it. My primary website became un-updatable when I lost my templates halfway through a major facelift.

(And yes, I had no one to blame but my own laziness.)
