Anyone Using Skype?

Is anyone using Skype for international/military relocation clients?  If so, I have a few questions...

Technical Geek Questions...

How stable is the call quality on international calls?

How stable is the video on video conferencing?

Has anyone had firewall issues? (i.e. traffic being blocked by a broker's firewall)

I understand it works like Kazaa in that your computer gets used as a relay for other people's calls when not in use.  How bad does it slow down your machine/internet access?  And is there any way to keep it from autoloading?

Are there adware, spam or other things to be irritated by or have crash your PC?

Ways you use it...

What's the best way to deploy it for a team?

How big of a pain is it to schedule and receive calls?

I've avoided rolling out tools like instant messaging because they become "productivity killers" when people see you online.  How is this similar or different?

Do you publish your Skype number for anyone to randomly use whenever they want to call you or do you only use it for select clients at predetermined times?

Is there a better internet solution for calls to international clients?

Thanks, Sid
