Two days ago I blogged about SharperAgent and discussed how Imprev (a competitor) was a problem for us since they required a vertical agent photo in the corner and we didn't use vertical agent photos. That got a couple of questions from other agents who don't understand why we wouldn't do that.
So let me explain...
When we started to develop our image as a team, I noticed that with other teams I spoke to there are clients who always want to work with the person who's "in charge" (i.e. the name on the team) and not the "underlings".
So we decided to strip away the image of one individual who runs things by creating a team name that was generic that presented us as a business and not a "super-agent" with underlings and assistants handling "lesser" clients.
From a marketing standpoint we emphasis that all pieces and members of the team are equally important; no one is a lesser piece of the puzzle. As a result, I prefer to use a team photo in our marketing or just use our logo.
My ultimate goal in building a team is to have each client work with 3-4 individuals throughout a transaction- each specializing on a specific part of the transaction- and have clients feel that they are in better hands than if they were with an agent who handles every task themselves.
